EMMANUEL* FOOD MINISTRIES

 

The Maplewood church of Christ in Sulphur,  was the first church in Louisiana to originally participate in the Angel Food Ministries program over 6 years ago. The Enterprise Boulevard church of Christ in Lake Charles joined, and spread the program throughout Southwest Louisiana, even reaching up to Leesville with a military support effort.

Then the abrupt demise of the Angel Food Ministries operation, with no advance notice caused a void in product, and a subsequent void in all of the food out-reach programs. My personal involvement grew to be a virtual full-time ministry with over 800 clients, plus the regional advertising and printed materials.
Then a sudden stop.
This bad-news obviously has spread all across the 43+ States involved,
abandoning over 500,000 monthly clients.

The EMMANUEL FOOD MINISTRIES trade name banner has been created to encompass the new, and the newly recognized; and now available "discount" and "quality" food products; and those products and organizations that will provide dependable interest and service to the churches of Christ, and other benevolent organizations the need continued support.

Initially, and after a very careful review, the Mid America Food products are being offered during November, December and January. An additional selection of food items will also become available in MARCH, NOW that the need in Southern Louisiana is sufficient to justify the freezer and refrigerated trucks driving from the East and over to Lake Charles-Sulphur. There of course will be additional drop-sites entering Louisiana from the East along I-10.
Then there will be a Northern crossing; going up to, and along I-20; when the demand is exhibited.

I hope each of you will look at what we have assembled; then will down-load and examine the existing
FEBRUARY, 2012 menu-order form.
Please review what we are doing, and try to determine if, and how, we might be able to help you re-start, or start your "discount food benevolence out-reach effort".
